“At a bit of a loss for words. As someone who went through the nightmare that is an open excision surgery and all the associated setbacks and delays in healing, the last month has been incredible. I can sit, stand, walk, (run even though I shouldn’t just yet), other physical activities like normal. Most notably driving a car- I used to have to move around and reposition myself constantly because of the open wound scarring, wound re-openings, etc. I drove for four hours yesterday and just sat still- crazy to me. Nothing to note about the incision itself- it looks good, it feels good. The very bottom did have a little bit of spotting coming from it (very minor, could hardly see anything on the gauze) but it has since healed up. I took the recommendation of others and clean the incision with hibiclens in the shower everyday. Change out the gauze tucked down south probably 3 times a day. Even from week 2 to now the improvement has been dramatic. Very very pleased with the results. Also- my open excision had left me with a bizarre wide scar that looked like a divot at the top of my butt- this cleft lift surgery removed that so I think the scenery looks better back there now lol.
3.5 Months Post-Surgery:
No issues whatsoever! I can drive for any distance, fly, run, walk, lift with zero pain or irritation. I’m in the gym 5x a week with zero restrictions. The operation by Dr. I has been life changing. With that being said- I personally could care less what the incision scar looks like because it eliminated such a painful and life-hindering issue that I once had. Over time I am sure the scar will fade in color and won’t be quite as noticeable, but as of now- you can 100% tell I had a major surgery back there. BUT, I honestly forget I even have it. I highly recommend the cleft lift, and specifically Dr. Immerman and his staff. Cheers!
6 months post-surgery:
Feeling phenomenal! Feels great to be living a normal life. Like others have said- you can still tell I had major cleft lift surgery but the scar is beginning to fade some which is cool. Hope you are all staying healthy and doing well. Hang in there!”
